Degassing (purge) silos are used in polyolefin plants (PE, PP and others). Nitrogen or air flows up through the pellet bed and strips residual monomer, solvent and other volatiles, reducing odour and safety risks before storage, packing and processing. Gas distribution, residence time and off-gas treatment are designed for the material and capacity.
